We are all Winners!

A beautiful lady, Frederique Murphy, told me of a Coaching Blog Awards a few months ago. I decided to enter my blog, knowing that I would be away for 3 weeks, and not have the chance to actively promote my entry.

Having said that, I sent out a “few” e-mails, asking friends and colleagues to vote, but more importantly comment to promote my blog in the rankings.

Then I headed off on my well earned break, and on my return found that I had made the Top 10 entries based on votes. What surprised me more, were the comments. It truly touched my heart, that I had not only touched these people, but that they “understood” my unusual approach to blog writing.

As most of you know, I don’t write conventional blog posts about enhancing your personal development or actively get your business increased or improved. Rather, I seem to be drawn to things and ideas based on the very things that happen around me in my personal and professional life.

Hence, the odd analogies, and strange comparisons 🙂

I live in the countryside, and am so blessed to be surrounded by an abundance of wildlife and domestic animals (although no pets). The birds especially inspire me. Even on my travels recently, I wrote a blogpost about birds being trapped in an airport being similar to businesses adapting in recent times (you can read it here).

I am not blogging that long, and am still “finding” my style, but for some of you, my journey was worth sharing, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for that.

I am inspired to continue writing, blogging and communicating on-line, as it is a fantastic way to meet like-minded people, get inspiration, and meet new people – whether they become business associates, friends, clients, or local networks.

Thank you again, and please follow your own inspiration, follow your dreams.

What is a winner anyway? The dictionary defines it as someone who succeeds at a venture or competition. But I think that is too narrow a definition of winning. I believe that if you walk away from any experience having learned something new about yourself or gained some new knowledge, are proud of what you have accomplished, then you are a winner! And that makes you a winner in my book Elaine 🙂

      Hi Marie,
Thanks for reading, and your kind words. The biggest win, in my book, is when we walk away from a negative situation that we could have fueled further. It is so exhilarating, and a WIN/WIN result 🙂
Thank goodness we learn on a daily basis, as this makes us a winner every day!
Dictionaries help us explain ourselves, but do not provide the emotion behind every word.
      Have a great summer!

    Well done 😉

And, thanks for the mention; it was great to be in the contest together, power to the Irish blogs!!!

I believe that we are shining more when we use our own uniqueness, individuality and quirkiness, that is what make us stand out and give us an amazing magnetism.

We should all be embracing our true self.

Thanks for being you, and sharing, always very inspiring!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting here Frederique.
Congratulations to you also, 2nd place!! Not an easy feat. I rejoice that people are unique. I rejoiced at being unique when I was younger, and everyone else trying to fit in with the “pack”.

But it has stood by me, and helped mold me into who I am today, unique (thankfully) and definitely quirky at times 🙂
